9.00 check in welcome

Plenty of parking awaits you.  Head to the big building for check-in. Grab a cuppa and your sustainable name tag where you will meet our team of Braidsters!

9.15 Eco Dying & Beeswax Food Wraps

Melissa will guide you through several ways to eco dye including avocado, magic of iron water, and vinegar leaf printing. Bring your own cotton, silk or linen and explore what sustainable creativity looks like.  While we steam and simmer our work, Melissa will show you how to make your own eco food covers. Using 100% cotton and all natural materials, you will get to take one home. Throw out your plastic wrap! 

11.00 Japanese hand sewing

Choose two projects to make: Key ring featuring running stitch using rags or explore the Hydrangea flower stitch using authentic Japanese yarns and fabrics. This beautiful stitch involves stitching and weaving. This craft is ideal  for patching garments, embellishing or working with patterned fabric. 

12.00 Lunch

Enjoy a fabulous lunch on the deck

overlooking the rainforest. If you have dietary requirements please let us know so we can ensure your day is fantabulous! 

12.30 bath salt making with melissa

We will be making beautiful bath salts using four different salt combinations with choices of dried flowers and herbs and essential oils to get your perfect blend!  Stimulate, relax, romance are all part of the optional blends.   The materials are all natural and you can customize your mix to take home. 

1.00 Crochet

Learn the art of crochet. We show you how to hold the hook, start a project, end off your project professionally and embrace two important stitches 


For those who can already crochet, we will be making a bath mit made from natural fibres including linen,  hemp, cotton.  Designed by Jenny King

2.15 macrame

Our project focuses on those new to Macrame.  We gather natural materials from the forest floor along with natural fibres.  Melissa will guide you through A wall hanging project.  Learn the larks head knot, sure knot and how to create spins in your work.  Creative options include adding beads, weaving and eco dying.

3.00 photos hugs and goodbyes

Time to take your skills and projects home. We will

supply you with instructions and patterns to take

home with you. Spread the love of sustainable craft with your friends.
